What we build
A garden building gives you room to work, make or relax without moving house or disrupting the home. We build each one to suit the plot and the way you will use it, with proper foundations, insulation and power so it is comfortable all year round.
Rather than dropping a flat-pack kit onto a slab, we build garden structures to measure — sized to the space, positioned for light and privacy, and finished to complement the house.
A dedicated workspace a short walk from the kitchen, separating work from home life. Good insulation, generous glazing, secure doors and plenty of sockets and data points make it a place you will actually want to spend the working day.
Sturdy workshops for woodworking, bikes, tools and hobbies, with robust flooring, workbench space and power where you need it. Our own background in carpentry means the structure is built to take real use.
Flexible spaces for a gym, studio, games room or somewhere to entertain, opening onto the garden with wide doors. They can be as simple or as finished as you like.
Timber garages, log stores and garden stores that keep cars, equipment and bikes dry and secure, built to match the style of the property.
Many garden buildings count as outbuildings under permitted development and do not need a planning application. Broadly, the building must be single-storey, used for purposes incidental to the house (not as a separate dwelling), not sit forward of the front of the house, and stay within height limits — which are lower when the building is within two metres of a boundary. Outbuildings must not cover more than half of the garden area.
Different rules apply for listed buildings, conservation areas and designated land such as National Landscapes, and some properties have had permitted development rights removed. Garden rooms intended for sleeping accommodation also raise Building Regulations requirements.
Most garden buildings under 30 square metres of internal floor area with no sleeping accommodation are exempt from Building Regulations if built from substantially non-combustible materials or positioned at least a metre from boundaries. Electrical work still needs to be certified. We will talk through what applies to your plot before work begins.
Our work
Yes. We insulate the floor, walls and roof and can install heating, lighting and power so the space stays comfortable in winter and summer.
